The open-plan living area is light and airy. The well-equipped kitchen has a gas hob, electric oven, microwave and dishwasher. There is a large dining table where you can enjoy a family meal and talk over the events of the day, with French doors leading to the garden. The comfortable sitting room has a flatscreen TV, DVD player and DAB radio, as well as two well-stocked bookcases for quiet evenings in, and some jigsaw puzzles and board games for family fun.
After a busy day exploring all that York has to offer, retire to your spacious double bedroom. After a good night’s sleep, you can sip your morning coffee and enjoy the views of nature in the garden. There is also a cosy twin bedroom with two comfortable single beds. Bed linen is included.
This York holiday cottage’s modern, opulent bathroom features a walk-in shower and large roll-top bath; towels are provided. The basin has an electric shaving socket above it. There is also a second, separate toilet and wash basin off the main hallway. Micklegarth holiday cottage is fully insulated, with gas central heating controlled by the guest. A fast and reliable Wifi connection is provided. There is a washing machine. Travel cot and highchair are available on request.
Outside the York holiday cottage, there is a lawned front garden and mature, secluded rear garden with beautiful trees and shrubs, as well as a summerhouse and outside dining area where you can relax with a glass of wine after your day’s sightseeing. Deer can sometimes be seen in the open fields beyond the garden, and buzzards regularly soar above.
Regular, frequent bus service from the end of the road takes you to York city centre in just 15 minutes. Excellent road links give easy access to the Yorkshire Dales, Moors and Coast; the vibrant shopping centres of Monks Cross and Clifton Moor are a convenient 5-minute drive away.
A short stroll along country footpaths leads to the river Foss and a cosy local pub.
